Vicarage Program
By Hollenback, Deb @ 9:15 AM :: 45 Views :: Church Bulletin, Ministry Council

As we prepare to say "good-bye" to Karl and Kendra Fay, we thank them for their ministry among us this past year. Please plan to attend a farewell open house at the Ahlschwede residence the evening of August 10th.

We also thank our St. Lorenz Foundation for its continued support of this program that is such an important part of the training for future pastors in the church. To date, all expenses associated with the vicarage program have been covered by our Foundation. Without that support, it would be extremely doubtful that we could have continued our involvement, which is now going into its fifth year.

We look forward to welcoming John and Niccy Walla, who will be arriving around August 13th.

Life Quotes From Lutherans For Life - August 10
By Hollenback, Deb @ 11:00 AM :: 2 Views :: Church Bulletin, Information to Share
"Christ chose death over life, and then, in reversing the curse, brought life and immortality to life through His resurrection. Christ’s mercy extends from His suffering cross into our suffering homes and hospitals, where He gives life because He chose death for us." Rev. Dr. Arthur A. Just, Jr., Professor of Exegetical Theology, Dean of the Chapel, and Director of Deaconess Studies at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Life Quotes from Lutherans For Life - August 3
By Hollenback, Deb @ 10:57 AM :: 17 Views :: Church Bulletin, Information to Share
"This Church, under the Gospel and for the sake of the Gospel, has the duty to spare, to the best of its abilities, the lives of all people . . . To the extent, then, that the Church wittingly falls prey to policies that support the "black genocide [abortion]," we act contrary to nature of the communion into which we have been drawn and we bar—albeit unwittingly—from the means of grace those whom God would save. Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy upon us, poor sinners!" Rev. Everette E. Greene, pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cincinnati, Ohio.
