Wendy in Winter

No wonder Wendy's coat blew off.
She didn't have it zipped.
And ----since she didn't watch for slush---
No wonder Wendy slipped.
No wonder Wendy froze her feet
Although her boots were lined,
Because when Wendy left for school
She left her boots behind.
And since she didn't dodge the ice
That sagged an apple bough,
No wonder Wendy's hatless head
Has seven stiches now.

The earth is filled with your love, O LORD.  Psalm 119:64

Creator Lord,
As my children grow up, I pray that like the psalmists, they will find Your fingerprints all over the world.  May they see Your handiwork in every corner of ordinary life and praise You!
May they notice your touch in the nature that surrounds them each day as they walk to school.  And when they peek at the stars before going to bed, may they sense Your awesome power.  For "the heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands"  (Ps 19:1)...............
