What is Student Services?
What is Student Servcies?
St. Lorenz’s Student Services is a three-tier program designed to help students who have special academic needs. Students who qualify may receive Student Services Assistance, Direct Instruction, or one of many services provided through Frankenmuth Public Schools.
Early Intervention
Early intervention can dramatically improve the odds of at-risk children finding success. Our school is intentional in seeking out these young students by conducting the following screenings each year:
· Speech
· Literacy
· Hearing &Vision
· K and 1st Grade Readiness
Student Services Assistance
Students receiving in-classroom, out-of classroom, and study hall assistance, work with teachers who have been certified to teach in the general classroom. They are more than tutors; they are qualified educators with the desire to help your child find success in problem areas. In addition to general classroom training, your child will also be working with teachers who have experience in remedial assistance. Your child can benefit from strategies found to be successful with other students.
Student Services Direct Instruction
Students receiving direct instruction in core subjects have highly individualized educational instruction. Their teacher is certified as both a general and special education instructor—which means your child’s special education is very comparable to that conducted in a public school. Testing and evaluation are done each year and reports are made available to demonstrate your child’s progress. We want you to stay connected to what’s going on in this special education, that is why each year we meet to reevaluate your child’s needs. Other meetings can be set as needs arise.
