......may not love more, bust she loves longer, knowing that the Savior's story she shares speaks of eternity to generations yet unborn." Ken Klaus
To get devotions sent to your e-mail each day be Rev. Klaus through the Lutheran Hour go to: http://www.lhm.org to sign up. His messages are like reading the morning newspaper with a thought about Jesus. Mostly, I appreciate his words in prayer.

- Set a reasonable time for doing homework. Remember, the first three to four weeks are adjustment times and homework may take a little longer. Breaking the homework sessions into two periods will put less strain on the child.
- Allow your child to select one or two special television programs he may want to watch instead of letting him turn on the set for non-stop viewing.
- Set aside some regular times during the week to listen to your child read. Reading evaluations will encourage this time.
4. Do your children frequently answer “Nothing!” when asked what they did in school
during the day? A good way to break the ice and give children a “working vocabulary” is to tell them some of the things you did that day. In the beginning, make them feel that even insignificant events are important to relate. Keep communication open during the beginning of these “tween” years.

Yearbook 2007-2008 will be distributed to the students on Friday, Sept. 5. These were purchased from your book fees last school year. New students may choose to purchase one for the cost of $15.00 realizing that it was last year's book.

We are excited about the amount of school kits that are possible with the help of all students. If you are movedto donate a ruler with inches and centimeters, please send them along with your child to school before the end of September. Thank you.

We do not request that books be covered. We leave this to the discretion of the parent. Some children are rougher on textbooks than others. Costs are incurred at the close of the year if extreme use was shown. If you choose to do so, a grocery bag is fine.

The book comes home each day. All the assignments from the day are written in them and then the box checked when completed. Each evening please check that work has been completed and signed in the right hand column for that day. We will be doing this for the first three weeks to build good habits. Some students may need this teacher-parent support system all year, others may not need it after the first three weeks.

Come rested with breakfast in your tummy. The day is going to be busy, busy, busy. When you enter the room sharpen two pencils and begin putting your name in the textbooks while visiting quietly with your friends. We will worship together gathering at 8:20 in the school gym around the theme "Worshiping our Savior." You may bring your first chapel offering envelope and place it in the basket at the front tray. Thank your parents for sending you to a school where you can learn about and share Jesus . I'm so pleased that you are taking the responsibility of checking the website to be prepared. See you very soon! Mrs. List

Praying daily for our children is our responsibility and privilege. Over the years, my prayers for my own children got to be quite repetitive for their daily needs. God's Word abounds with prayers, I needed guidance in finding them. I found two sources helpful. Focus on the Family - February 2000 issue gave a monthly calendar of fruit of the spirit, character, virtue traits that I used. For your benefit, they are printed on the Saturdays of my calendar for the year. Another source dear to my praying heart was Praying the Bible for Your Children by David and Heather Kopp. Again, it is a devotional prayer book for our children. Envelope their day with a prayer for God's will in their lives.

Click on the Link for the "Student Interactive Toolbox" or "Summer Activites" link on the side of this page. There is a plethora (great word) of activities to create. Choose from making your own crossword puzzles, biography cubes, to poetry. Try out a few . Be sure to share them with me, Mrs. List, when you get back to school in the fall. I'd love to see your creations. Tell your friends.
